I've been told I have a big head before. My wife tells it to me often, but I don't think this is what she had in mind. The credit actually goes to her for finding this link from Eric Testroete.

Eric put this project together as a Halloween costume. Seriously cool stuff. His website has a pretty good rundown on the process of making this project and more pics of him walking around town wearing his huge head. You'll also find other fun projects in his portfolio (including a modeled head of Bill Murray) at testroete.com.

Eric also mentioned Bert Simons and Haywan Chiu in his self portrait project. Check them out to.

This one comes curtsy of Teis Alber. I'm a big fan of DJ style head phones but the one's I rock don't look half as cool as these. Not sure how good they'd sound as the cord seems to be suffering some type of flesh wound, but who cares when they look this good right? Actually I had a friend in high school who I caught walking around with a set of cool head phones on. When I asked him what he was listening to he pulled the cord out of his pocket without a player of any kind attached to it. True story.

This style is is crazy!

Next time you're staying at a hotel make sure to check out what's behind the picture frames and mirrors. Who knows what you'll find, maybe a treasure map? Maybe a combination lock safe? Maybe some kick ass, super secret, hidden art? From the looks of this website, secret wall tattooing is more common then I would have guessed. Then again I'm not so sure I would have even guessed it existed, but I know what I'm doing next time I'm at a Holiday Inn

Here's a pretty crazy balancing act done by Bryan Berg. Dude is a Guinness World Record holding card stacker x 2. He's got a lock the titles of largest & the tallest house of freestanding playing cards.

Check out some behind the scenes footage:

This one is just fun. I watch this on a regular basis when I need a laugh. M.O.P in the house cousin. ANTE UP!

Back in high school this song was my anthem and got spun in high rotation. Who am I kidding.. I’m still playing the joint. There’s something about Bert and Ernie singing it though that’s just bananas.

Yo, I think this one is my favorite one yet! I'm moved by this on so many levels I can't even explain it, but I'll do my best. I found this yesterday and was blown away. I love graffiti and still stay involved in the art form, I love open source software and the new directions I see it take everyday and I love the freedom to express one's self creatively. This story combines all of these things together.

A collaborative effort from the people at Free Art and Technology (FAT), OpenFrameworks, the Graffiti Research Lab, The Ebeling Group, the Not Impossible Foundation and Parsons Communication Design & Technology have come up with open source software that can be used in combination with some low budget DIY hardware, that allows people to draw with only the use of their eyes.

These guys teamed up with Tony Quan, a graffiti writer from L.A. who goes by TEMPTONE. TEMPT was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, in '03. The disease took away nearly all of his mobility except for the movement of his eyes. With the use of this new technology TEMP is able to continue doing the art work he loves.

Watch this and tell me you don't feel uplifted.

Big ups to everyone involved in this project and keep doing your thing.

I've seen about a billion typography animations but this one from theplabtube on youtube caught my attention. I though it was nice to see some originality injected into an overused technique. Smooth camera work, clever use of the letter shapes and much like yesterday's post, the message itself is also inspirational. Well done!
